Yet, you are probably a little nervous about doing it. You’re nervous because you care so much. You’re nervous because you want to be amazing on stage, to really make a difference when you speak, to move the room. You might be nervous that you won’t be able to do all of that. If you are, you are not alone.
I bet you have heard that the number one fear – even above thinking about one’s own death – is the fear of public speaking. See how much you are not alone?
And being alone in our fear makes it all the more scary, really.
Because even if we’ve heard that strange and unexpected research finding about people being more afraid of thinking of public speaking that the thought of their own demise, we think that our fear is actually different than those people. That our fear might actually result in the worst case scenario (throwing up on stage? passing out? tripping on the way up? Forgetting everything we were planning to say?) and that we were right that we should never have gotten so bold in the first place.
That’s why you we aren’t going to tackle this baby alone.
You are going to join with six to eight other smart, passionate, thoughtful transformational souls to craft your signature presentation. We will practice together and give thoughtful, caring and helpful feedback to one another as we boldly step forth toward… and then onto, the stage.
Each week for six weeks, we will gather via phone and I will take us step by step through the process of creating your presentation. We will focus on 1. the message, 2. the audience, 3. the structure, 4. the content (including a focus on storytelling), 5. amplifying aids (including how to create truly effective presentation slides) and 6. delivery style.
During each call we will have an extended Q&A so that every question that arises for you gets answered. I will share specific examples as I share concepts. After every session I will provide you with a resource guide with video clips and other media you can get online to help you really implement what we are learning. We will upload videos (protected, of course) to share with the group and gather (caring and useful) feedback. We will share ideas in our own private Facebook group page. I will give you every resource I can think of in service of your stepping up your public speaking game and making this world a better place with your message.
Along with these six group sessions, you and I will meet one-on-one for two 30-minute sessions to ensure that you are able to create the most amazing, room-moving, transformational presentation you’ve got in you.
